Hello all, I'm InfamousI, aka LegendaryMe, aka Zeconte, aka Victorious Person of Bold Council and Might, my first name is Nicholas, which in Greek apparently translates into "Victorious person" and am married to Mysteria Kiito who most know from the UR forums. I have a 4-year-old step-son, Rei-Rei, and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Eris, named after the Greek Goddess of Discord. I'm now 26, currently working DSL phone support for TDS Telecom & Metrocom at $14 an hour, paid vacations and holidays among other benefits, and have 7 different certifications, Microsoft Certified Professional, Desktop Support Technician and System Administrator, Comp TIA A+ and Network+, and phone support Customer Support Specialist and Help Desk Analyst.
Beyond my actual employment, I'm also an aspiring writer, currently working on a table-top pen & paper role-playing game that I've been tentatively making progress on and was inspired by my own beliefs coupled with my role-playing experiences with White Wolf's RPG's, mainly their original World of Darkness setting and their Exalted series, as well as Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. I've currently gotten most of the character creation process down and the various races and the magic and combat systems I want to use for the game. I've been working on my combat system as of late, but after getting almost to the end of the weapons list and all but combat rules for ships both naval and air, and Environmental Complications, I've sort of lost my inspiration and am currently waiting to regain the will/inspiration to finish them. I have also written many poems and essays, some of which I have posted on UR and
Deviant Art, the rest which can be found on
my own site.
Concerning my own site, I am the co-creator of Mysanthropic Asylum, a website designed for inspiring writers/authors/roleplayers to come together and share their works in a fully immersive role-playing environment of a dark and brooding asylum where patients check-in to escape from the harshness of reality to relax and share the things they love and hate about their lives with other members. I lost contact with the other co-creator, Emrys, whom I met through Ultima Online on a chance encounter where we crossed paths in the swamps beyond Britania and he randomly asked me if he could tag along with me while I was doing nothing of importance and I agreed. We soon became fast friends and found we were eerily alike in views and interests, and even after we lost interest in UO due to ridiculously crappy updates to the game, we found reasons to keep contact. We lost contact after some troubles he had with school and money and his inability to maintain internet connection, but after at least 2-3 years of being out of contact, I kept our website alive and him on ICQ, and once I found him on again, though I was using Trillian and all attempts to message him when I saw him on failed, I finally installed a version of ICQ and got into contact with him again to keep up with our website. He is currently on hiatus to work on some projects which will make his work-life easier, but hopes to be able to totally re-do our website to bring it one-step closer to our original ideal for the site. I personally have pretty much no ability to update the site and am only the promoter and main contributer to the ideas behind the site that he codes and makes a reality. Ideally we hope to transforme Mysanthopic Asylum into a publishing company through which we publish my role-playing game and novels inspired by it among other works submitted by our members.
Politically I tend to be a conservative person yet liberal thinker in that my own personal point of view tends to side with the conservative point-of-view, but at the same time, I understand the liberal state of mind and believe that I have no right to enforce my own beliefs upon others and that they deserve the right to decide what's best for them. I am personally against abortion, but can understand why some people would choose to have one for example. I understand the appeal to have sex with multiple partners, but personally prefer a serious relationship with just one woman, etc. As much as I understand the liberal point-of-view, I cannot help but act as a conservative, which puts me in the position to favor the liberal side of things, but sympathize with conservatives. In the end, I really don't know which side I stand on, but tend to believe that individual people should decide what is best for their own lives than have other people like myself decide for them. As much as I'd like to believe that anyone can support a child if they really tried, I also realize that not everyone is the same, and not everyone is equipped to handle such a responsibility and that human-life is, in the end, no more unique than any other type of life on this planet, and if any other type of life can be considered expendable by humanity, then why not human-life itself? It all balances out in the end. Cold as it may sound, people die every day, what age they die at doesn't make much of a difference. If heaven exists and those who aren't baptized aren't allowed, then I simply cannot believe that God is just. I tend to believe that religion is ultimately meaningless, it is personal actions that mean everything. Even if you don't believe there is a God, so long as you place more importance in your own personal decisions than the decisions of others, in other words, that free will and personal actions are the deciding factors in your life, that you will be judged fairly and justly and will be rewarded if there is, in fact, a judge to decide your fate.
Religiously, I tend to claim to be a Discordian, but that isn't quite accurate. I hold my own unique beliefs about the true nature of the universe, how it was created, and who decides who is worthy of transcendence and who is damned, but Discordianism is the one set of beliefs that most closely matches my own. I believe that the universe creates souls spontaneously to carry out the infinite potential it contains, and that such a universe is best represented by the Discordian Goddess Eris. Also accordant to Discordian beliefs I do not believe that the truths you hold fast to are ultimately that matter in how you are judged at the end of your life, but how you live your life, and how much understanding and tolerance you give to different beliefs and people around you that truly matters. That is why I can fully respect the teachings of Jesus, yet be at odds with many Christians, because in the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Jesus was full of understanding and forgiveness, but all too many Christians are only full of bigotry and hate towards those who do not believe in the same things they were taught to believe in.
I am LegendaryMe, and as my name implies, I am legendary due to the fact that I believe in only that which I personally believe in, and will only accept what I have personally give much thought and consideration to and personally believe to be the truth. I hope all of you do the same.
